The Story Behind Sur Kitchen

My name is Agustina, and I'm the founder of Sur Kitchen. I started this business to share the recipes I grew up with — handmade, simple, and full of flavor.

I grew up watching the women in my family cook. A big part of home life, celebrating holidays, and everyday cooking centered around the kitchen — and especially around empanadas. My mother taught me that empanadas were a weekend tradition, something worth two days of preparation, made with love and eaten any time of day, hot or cold.

As I reflected on raising my kids and what my next step would be, I started thinking about my passions. I realized I wanted to share that home-cooked feeling from a South American kitchen with as many people as possible.

With three generations of knowledge behind me, I made it my mission to perfect the empanada. I went through dozens of dough iterations, tested every local empanada I could find, and measured every ingredient precisely until I found the right balance. The result is Sur Kitchen: bakery quality, in your freezer. A Buenos Aires experience without the flight.
